A/P's Main Space Gallery

Alberta Printmakers (A/P) invites all artists (local, national and international) incorporating print media techniques within their practice to apply for our 2020-2021 juried gallery exhibitions program.
Alberta Printmakers Main Space Gallery is an artist-run gallery located within A/P’s print centre. The Main Space Gallery Program exhibits innovative, contemporary, print-based art produced from emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Print techniques can include any or a combination of: relief, intaglio, monoprint, lithography, silkscreen and digital. These techniques can also be combined with any other media such as, but not limited to, fabric or ceramics. Alberta Printmakers Main Space Gallery shows regional, national and international artists working in a range of concepts and techniques. A/P’s goal is to provide opportunities for the artistic and public communities to experience the diversity of print media art as a contemporary and vital artistic medium.
Application Requirements 2020-2021
1. Applicants must submit a completed Main Space Gallery Application Form 2020-2021. This form can be found HERE.
2. Applicants must submit the following. All files must be PC and MAC compatible.
250 words maximum, PDF format.
Artist biography for promotional material, no longer than 50 words.
Written exhibition proposal, maximum 500 words, in PDF format. Please refer to the attached gallery map. Note that the 291” wall is painted cinder block. The majority of works proposed for exhibition should be existing works that are included in the SUPPORT MATERIAL section below.
Ten numbered & labeled digital images in JPEG format. Label and number images using the following format: 1.artistname_title.jpg
Each image must be 72 dpi and a maximum of 1200 pixels on the longest side.
For video submissions, please submit a link and instructions on how to access the video (i.e., passwords needed to view). Please restrict video work to 5 minutes maximum.
A corresponding digital image list that includes dimensions, title of work, media and date for each image, submitted in PDF format.
3. Submissions must be received no later than 4pm MST on December 30th, 2019. Incomplete submissions and submissions that do not follow the formats described above will not be reviewed. Please email all documents to firstname.lastname@example.org and address email with the following in the ‘subject’ line: Main Space Submission 2020-2021. Submissions sent via regular post will not be reviewed.

DEADLINE TO APPLY: 4 pm on Monday, December 2nd
Each year, Alberta Printmakers (A/P) holds a non-juried show and sale to showcase the work of local and international printmakers of all experience levels, and to raise funds towards A/P’s community programming.
All interested printmakers are invited to submit an edition of ten (10) 8” x 10” prints.
In return, each participant will receive 8 prints created by other artists.
A/P will retain 2 works from each edition to showcase and sell during our annual Not So Mini Exhibition and Fundraiser, raising funds for A/P programming.
Deadline for Prints to be RECEIVED at A/P is MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2019.
Not So Mini Exhibition: December 6 - 21 from 11am - 4pm (closed Sundays).
Opening Reception, Silent Auction, and Fundraiser: December 6 from 7-10pm
Participating artists and guests are invited to celebrate their work and raise funds during our fundraising event complete with with music, refreshments, and original art. (Just in time for all of your holiday gifting!)
Submit the following to A/P to be received NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 2nd:
Edition of ten (10) 8” x 10” prints.
Submission fee - payments can be made in person or online via paypal.
$20 for members per submission / $25 for non-members per submission.
Participating artists can pick up their exchanged prints at the reception on Friday, December 6th or they will be put in the post by December 21st
