Silkscreen Intro class, Day ONE


Paper-cut stencils are the first type of image I ever learned to screenprint, so of course that's how the class began.

Why not teach blended pulls while doing the simple images? Shelley's first print (above) came out beautifully!

Brain learned a neat trick about papercut stencils- how to mask off the white spaces between the horse's legs, despite not being connected to the paper stencil.

Here we're using the gallery window as a makeshift light-table, tracing images to be cut out of rubylith.
