A product of somber angst, my work is an inquisition into personal experience. Through the interaction of abstracted portraiture and surrealist symbolism, I create small narratives that question the individual’s thought process and its social context. I find myself overly critical of every thought that I have, every word that I say, and every move that I make. Representing these moments of self-deprecation allows me to understand what effects my disposition internally and externally. Intrigued by vastly different personalities, I examine how people, places, and events shape the character of an individual. I impose different scenarios onto this individual to set up for an undiscovered outcome. These scenes are suspended in time, waiting for resolution.
