Learn how to properly carve a linocut block image!

In this class you will learn about the history of relief printmaking, and how to achieve the tones and values through mark-making in your own work. Participants will create their own linocut block and 9x6" prints.


Class includes one additional studio rental day to print!

  • Matt Dunlop

    Matt Dunlop is an English printmaker and artist based in Calgary, Canada. He attended Bournemouth Arts Institute where he a received a Btech in art and design and then graduated with honors from Camberwell College of Art, South London in 2014, specializing in Illustration and printmaking. Over the following year he was a part of multiple group shows in London
    and around the UK, whilst training to be a technician at the London Print Studio. Over the summer of 2015 he studied under master printmaker Umberto Giovanini at his Opficio della Rosa studio in Italy. In 2016 he moved to New Zealand where he was an active member of the print studio at the Inverlochy Art School, Wellington. He continued to self-initiate projects and to work to design briefs over this time before moving to Calgary in May, 2018 and becoming a member at the Alberta Printmakers. Matt works primarily in woodcut, finding this ancient process to be the most enjoyable and natural way of translating the world around him into imagery.
