2019 Not So Mini Submissions

Each year A/P hosts a print exchange and exhibition in conjunction with an exciting sale and silent auction fundraiser.
The Not So Mini is among our most anticipated events of the year that:

Showcases the breadth and depth of printmaking by local, national, and international artists

Connects printmakers from all over the globe with A/P and each other
-
Raises vital funds to help sustain A/P's community programming

Who Should Participate?

This opportunity is open to ALL artists working in print-based media from anywhere around the globe.
ALL experience levels (from beginner to expert), and ALL forms of print-based processes are welcome!

About the Exchange:

All participants submit an edition of ten 8"x10" prints
-
In return, each participant will receive 8 original prints from other participants, selected at random
-
A/P retains 2 prints from each edition to raise funds through a sale and silent auction fundraiser
Participation Details

About the Exhibition
-
One print from each edition will be included the 2022 Not So Mini Exhibition, which will be on display in A/P's Main Gallery from December 9 - 16, 2022
-
This exhibition will be publicly accessible to visitors within our hours of operation (10am- 8pm Wednesday, 10am-5pm Thursday to Saturday)
-
A/P will host an in-person closing reception on December 16 from 7 - 10pm which will include print sales, access to the online silent auction (see below), light refreshments, and a selection of hand-printed holiday items for sale!
About the Fundraiser
-
The 2 prints from each edition that are retained by A/P will be included in a silent auction and sale that will begin on Friday, December 9, and will close on Friday, December 16, 2022

To connect a broad local, national, and global audience to participating artists and their works, we will use an online auction and sales platform
-
A/P will set all prices and starting bids, which will be consistent for all artworks submitted
-
All funds raised from these print sales will support A/P's sustained community programming

How To Participate
STEP 1
To confirm your involvement, each participant MUST submit their online submission form, and pay their participation fees NO LATER THAN November 22, 2021:

→ Process your submission fee.
This can be done in person (if you are local) or online via the Online Submission Form

Fee for A/P Members: $20 (CAD) per submission (to purchase or renew your A/P membership, click HERE)

Fee for non-members: $30 (CAD) per submission

Additional shipping fees will apply for submissions outside of Calgary/Mohkinstsis:

An additional $10 (CAD) per submission will apply for submissions within Canada
-
An additional $25 (CAD) per submission will apply for international submissions
-
NOTE: Participants are able to submit more than one edition of ten (10) prints. A submission fee must be processed for EACH edition of ten (10) prints submitted.

STEP 2
Prepare and package your edition of 10 prints that adhere to the following artwork guidelines:
Size:
-
Prints must be two dimensional with a total paper size that is UP TO BUT NOT EXCEEDING 8"X10"
-
There is no restriction on image size as long as it fits within the 8” x 10” paper size
Media:
-
ALL forms of PRINT-MEDIA are welcome including lithography, intaglio, relief, screenprint, monotype, and other expanded and mixed media practices in printmaking
Presentation:
-
Each print must be fully dry with glassine or tissue paper between each print, and all packaged in a protective manner to prevent artwork damage.
Theme/Subject Matter:
-
There is no theme for this exhibition and members are welcome to submit work of any theme or subject matter.*
*However, A/P reserves the right to exclude any work that promotes violence, hatred, or intolerance.
A/P is not responsible for prints that are damaged or lost in transport. Prints that do not fit these requirements, or are not suitable will not be returned.
STEP 3
Complete the ONLINE ARTWORK INFORMATION form no later than December 4, 2021.
After submitting STEP 1, you will receive a link to an Online Artwork Information Form for you to provide us with the following:

Artwork Title, Medium, Paper/Substrate.

An uploaded image of your work to the following specification: 300dpi with 1500 pixels on the shortest side; no larger than 5MB.
A/P will be using your submitted image, as well as documentation of your submitted artwork to promote A/P, The Not So Mini Exhibition, and the Not So Mini Online Auction. A/P will make every reasonable effort to ensure that the artist is credited. By signing and submitting your application form, you permit A/P to use images of submitted artwork in print and/or electronic media for these purposes.
STEP 4
Ensure that your edition is RECEIVED by A/P no later than DECEMBER 3, 2022.
